Abelar Hightower, Ser:

Knight who competed in Lord Ashford's tourney.

Acorn Hall:

Seat of the Smallwoods in the Riverlands.

Addam Marbrand, Ser:

Lannister bannerman chosen as commander of the Watch in King's Landing after the death of Ser Jacelyn Bywater. Well regarded.

Addam Osgrey:

Youngest son of Ser Eustace, died a squire in the Blackfyre Rebellion.

Aegon Blackfyre:

Elder son of Daemon Blackfyre, twin of Aemon.

Aegon Frey:

Simple minded man, second son of Ser Stevron and grandson of Walder. Known as Jinglebells, murdered by Catelyn Stark at the Red Wedding.

Aegon I Targaryen the Conqueror:

The first Targaryen king of Westeros, rider of Balerion.

Aegon II Targaryon:

King who fed his Grand Maester to a dragon.

Aegon III Targaryen the Unlucky:

King during the death of the last dragon, some believed he poisoned it due to his fear of dragons, which arose from seeing his mother eaten by one.

Aegon IV Targaryen the Unworthy:

King who legitimised his bastards on his death bed, leading to the Blackfyre rebellion.

Aegon V Targaryen:

Egg, Aegon the unlikely. Became king after many relatives died. Served for a time as squire to the Hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall. Father of Jaehaerys and grandfather of Aerys. Died the same year Rhaegar was born, possibly at the same time as Ser Duncan and his heir, Prince Duncan.

Aegon Targaryen:

Son of Rhaegar, believed killed by Gregor Clegane in the attack on King's Landing.

Aelinor, Queen:

Wife of Aerys.

Aemon Blackfyre:

Younger son of Daemon Blackfyre, twin of Aegon.

Aemon Costayne:

One of the singers at the wedding of Joffrey and Margaery.

Aemon Rivers, Ser:

Son of Walder Rivers.

Aemon Targaryen:

Maester on the Wall. Son of Maekar, he was offered the crown but declined, believing himself better suited to service than to lead. Old and blind.

Aemon Targaryen:

The Dragonknight. One of the great knights of history, a Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and rumoured lover of Queen Naerys.

Aenys Frey:

Third son of Walder Frey by his first wife, One of the men captured by Vargo Hoat and freed by Arya.

Aerion Targaryen:

Aerion the Monstrous. Mad, eldest son of Maekar and brother of Aegon. Killed after consuming wildfire in the belief it would transform him into a dragon.

Aeron Greyjoy:

Damphair. Brother of Balon, once a warrior, now a priest of the Drowned God.

Aerys I Targaryen:

Weak and studious Targaryen became king when Daeron II died a year after Ashford Tourney. Had no offspring.

Aerys II Targaryen:

The Mad King. His killing of Brandon and Rickard Stark, along with Rhaegar's apparent abduction of Lyanna and his call for Ned and Robert Baratheon precipitated the revolution. Killed by Jaime Lannister, then of the Kingsguard to prevent him from destroying the city.

Aethan:

A Nightswatchman, who Chett planned to kill.

Aethelmure:

A historical Grand Maester.

Age of Heroes:

Period of ancient history, full of legends to which many of the great families claim descent.

Aggar:

Ironman present when Theon murdered boys in order to claim to have killed Bran and Rickon, later killed by him.

Aggo:

Member of Dany's Khas, later bloodrider to her after she raised the dragons.

Alan of Rosby:

Nightswatchman who surivived the fist, where he was given three of the Dragonglass arrowheads.

Alayaya:

Daughter of Chataya and whore who acted as decoy for Shae and was taken and whipped by Cersei and Tywin.

Alayne Baelish:

Mother of Petyr.

Albar Royce, Ser:

Heir to Nestor Royce and a knight of the Vale, present in the Eyrie during Tyrion's trial.

Albett:

Friend of Jon's, passed into the builders.

Alebelly:

Winterfell man, killed when the Ironmen attacked.

Aleric of Eysen:

One of the singers at the wedding of Joffrey and Margaery.

Alerie Tyrell:

Mace's wife, formerlly a Hightower.

Alesander Frey:

A singer, grandson of Walder Frey and sister of Alyx, not present at the Red Wedding.

Alesander Staedman, Lord:

The Pennylover. Man with Stannis who swore to Joffrey after the Battle of the Blackwater

Alester Florent:

Hand of king Stannis and worshiper of Rh'llor, executed for attempting to make peace with the Lannisters. Seat Brightwater Keep.

Alfyn Crowkiller:

A notorious wildling, slain by Qhorin on his way to join with Mormont.

Alia of Braavos:

A famed singer.

Alisser Thorne, Ser:

Mean spirited knight in charge of training new recruits for the watch. Sent away to King's Landing by Jeor Mormont to get him away from Jon. Sent to the Wall by Tywin from King's Landing with Jaremy Ryker.

Alla Tyrell:

A cousin of Margaery and one of her attendants.

Allar Deem:

Gold Cloak recommended by Janos Slynt for the position of commander, but sent to the Wall by Tyrion, with the advice that it might be nice if he didn't make it alive because of his willingness to kill babies.

Allard Seaworth:

Son of Davos. Lost in the attack on Kings Landing.

Allyria Dayne:

Edric's aunt.

Allyrion:

Dornish noble house, seat Godsgrace, banner a gold hand in the middle of a pie with red and black slices.

Alice Graceford, Lady:

Noble with the Tyrell retinue in Kings Landing.

Alyn:

Guardsman promoted to captain of Ned's personal guards after the death of Jory. Sent with Beric and killed.

Alyn Ambrose:

Squire promised to Elinor.

Alyn Connington:

The Pale Griffin. A Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.

Alyn Stackspear, Ser:

A man at Harrenhal with Tywin.

Alys Karstark:

Daughter of Rickard.

Alysanne Bulwer, Lady

Noble of eight years with the Tyrell retinue in Kings Landing.

Alysanne Osgrey:

Daughter of Eustace Osgrey, died of the Summer Sickness.

Alysanne Targaryen:

Wife of King Jaehaerys I, convinced him to abolish first night.

Alyss Arryn:

Ancient Queen of the Vale.

Alyx Frey:

One of Walder Frey's granddaughters that were presented to Robb before the Red Wedding, at which she sat next to him.

Amabel:

A woman in Harrenhal.

Amerei Frey:

Ami. Daughter of Merrett. One of Walder Frey's granddaughters that were presented to Robb before the Red Wedding. Daughter of Merrett, formerly married to Ser Pate of Sevenstreams.

Amory Lorch, Ser:

Brutal knight in the service of Tywin Lannister responsible for the bloody killing of Princess Rhaenys. Killed by a bear at Harrenhal under the orders of Vargo Hoat. Banner a manticore

Andahar:

A king of legend, with a two headed horse stabled with Lord Roote, whatever that means.

Andal:

One of the races of the seven kingdoms.

Andar Royce, Ser:

Older brother of Robar who fought in the Hand's Tourney and was unhorsed by Jaime.

Andrew Estermont, Ser:

Cousin of Stannis who stayed with him after the Blackwater. He went with Edric when Davos sent him away.

Andrey Charlton, Ser:

One of the people killed by the Lannisters during the War.

Andrik the Unsmiling:

Man in service to Lord Drumm.

Androw Ashford:

One of lord Ashford's sons, competed at his tourney

Anguy:

Archer who won the archery contest at the tourney held to honour Ned being named Hand. Later a member of the Brotherhood without banners.

Arbor

Island in the south of the Reach, famed for its wines, seat of the Redwynes.

Ardrian Celtigar:

Lord who swore to Joffrey after the Battle of the Blackwater.

Arlan of Pennytree, Ser:

Hedge knight of no great reputation who took Duncan on as his squire.

Aron Santagar, Ser:

Robert's master at arms, killed during rioting after Myrcella left for Dorne

Arron:

A man in training with the Nightswatch who helped defend when Mance attacked.

Arron Qorgyle, Ser:

A member of Oberyn's retinue, who helped him prepare for his fight with Gregor.

Arryk, Ser:

Member of the Kingsguard during the war known as the dance of the dragons when Targaryen killed Targaryen. Slain by his brother Ser Erryk.

Arryk:

Tyrell guardsman in Kings Landing.

Arryn:

Name of the lords of the Vale, they were previously kings. The line has fallen on hard times. Banner a Moon and Falcon, white on a sky high field, words "As high as honour".

Arryn, Lord:

Lord on the loyalist side in the Blackfyre rebellion.

Arrys Oakheart, Ser:

Member of the Kingsguard sent with Myrcella to Dorne. Less brutal and mindlessly obedient than many of the others.

Arwyn Frey:

One of Walder Frey's daughters by his seventh wife that were presented to Robb before the Red Wedding.

Arson Ironaxe:

A wildling who was trapped beneath the Wall as he tried to tunnel through.

Arthur Dayne, Ser:

Brother of Ashara and member of Aerys' Kingsguard. Known as the Sword of the Morning. Knighted Jaime and slain by Ned and Howland Reed whilst guarding Lyanna.

Artos Stark the Implaccable

Brother of Lord Willam.

Arwyn Oakheart:

Southern Lady with Renly.

Arya Stark:

Youngest of Ned and Catelyns's daughters and the wilder of the two. Escaped King's Landing when Ned was executed and made her way north having various adventures and killing several people. Eventually gained passage to Braavos with a coin given to her by Jaqen.

Arymidon:

Author of Engines of war.

Asha Greyjoy:

Elder sister of Theon. After mocking him and inducing incestous thoughts, offered to rescue him from Winterfell but left him there when he insisted on staying.

Ashara Dayne:

Sister of Ser Arthur Dayne, rumoured to have been in love with Eddard Stark, Supposedly threw herself to her death when Ned returned the family sword.

Ashemark:

Seat of the Marbrands in the Westlands.

Ashford:

Keep on the Cockleswent in the Reach.

Ashford, Lord:

Southern noble whose tourney attracted many knights and had significant repurcutions.

Asshai:

City associated with magic.

Astapor::

Red brick city in slavers bay on the Worm River conquered by Dany from where she obtained her army of Unsullied.

Aubrey Ambrose:

One of the great knights who fought on the Blackfyre side in the rebellion.

Aurane:

The bastard of Driftsmark. Man with Stannis and swore to Joffrey after the Battle of the Blackwater

Axell Florent:

Castellen of Dragonstone and follower of Stannis and keen for power. A supporter of Melisandre and something of an enemy of Davos.

Azor Ahai:

Legendary hero and wielder of Lightbringer, prophecied to be reborn in a storm.

Bael the Bard:

Historical wildling who according to the tale, fathered a bastard on the Starks.

Baelor Hightower:

Son and heir of Leyton Hightower, once a suitor of Elia.

Baelor Targaryen:

Baelor Breakspear. Renowned warrior and eldest Hand and son of Daeron Targaryen, killed in a Trial of Seven fighting alongside Duncan the Tall.

Baelor I Targaryen:

Baelor the Blessed. Targaryen prince and septon who acted as hand before becomming king and starved to death fasting.

Balerion:

The Black Dread. One of the dragons used to conquer Westeros. Died two hundred years old, during the reign of Jaehaerys I.

Balerion:

Princess Rhaenys's kitten, later a Tom cat in the Red Keep.

Ballabar, Maester:

A Maester who came to King's Landing with the Redwynes.

Balon Greyjoy:

Lord of the Iron Isles, proclaimed himself king a few years after Robert's rebellion and again after Robert's death.

Balon Swann, Ser:

Knight sent to fight with Joffrey during the war of the five kings while his brother was supporting Renly and later Stannis. Chosen for the Kingsguard.

Bandy:

Joseth's daughter.

Banefort, Lord:

Lannister bannerman captured by Robb.

Bannen:

A Nightswatchman, from White Harbour who Chett planned to kill. Survived the Fist but succumbed to his infected wounds at Craster's.

Bar Emmon:

Noble house sworn to Dragonstone, seat Sharp point, banner a white seal or perhaps a swordfish.

Baratheon:

Youngest of the great houses and rulers of the Stormlands, created after Aegon the first conquered Westeros, supposedly from one of his bastard sons. Banner a crowned stag on a golden field, words "Ours is the fury"

Barra:

One of Roberts bastards. Murdered as a babe by Allar Deem on Cersei's orders.

Barre, Septon:

Septon on Dragonstone.

Barristan Selmy:

Barristan the Bold. Sixty year old onetime Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, raised to the position after being one of only two to survive and be pardoned after Robert's rebellion. Disguarded by Joffrey to make way for Sandor Clegane at the suggestion of Varys, he squired for Belwas before revealing himself and pledging to Dany. Knighted by King Aegon and joined the Kingsguard shortly after his death.

Barth, Septon:

Hand to Jaehaerys I for 40 succsesful years.

Barth Stark, Lord:

Lord in times past whose crypt was seen by Bran while hiding from the Ironmen.

Bartha:

Brewers wife who was Theon's first and was killed by Gelmarr.

Bass:

Kennelmaster at Castle Black.

Bastard of Bracken:

One of the people killed by the Lannisters during the War.

Bastard of Harrenhal:

Man overthrown by Ser Arlan in a tourney many years before Ashford.

Battle of the Blackwater:

Battle outside of Kings Landing where Stannis's host was smashed.

Bear Island:

Home of the Mormonts.

Beardless Dick:

A member of the Brotherhood without Banners.

Becca:

One time lover of Robert's.

Becca the Baker:

One of the people killed by the Lannisters during the War.

Beck, Goodman:

One of the people killed by the Lannisters during the War.

Belgrave, Lord:

Lord commanded to was a beggar's feet by Baelor the Blessed.

Belis:

A Pyromancer with Aerys, slain by Jaime to save Kings Landing.

Bella:

Baseborn daughter of Robert, now a teenage whore.

Belmore:

A noble family in the Vale.

Belwas:

Former slave from the fighting pits of Yunkai, sent as a protector to Dany by Illyrio. Lets opponents cut him before he kills them.

Ben Blackthumb:

A smith in Harrenhal, master of the armory.

Benfred Tallhart:

Son of Helman Tallhart, drowned by Aeron.

Benfrey Frey, Ser:

One of Roslin's full brothers.

Benjen Stark:

Younger brother of Ned, he joined the Nightswatch where he rose to the position of first ranger, before going missing.

Benjen Stark, King:

Benjen the Sweet. King in times past whose crypt was seen by Bran while hiding from the Ironmen.

Bennis, Ser:

Knight met by Duncan in the employ of Ser Eustace.

Benjen Stark, King:

Benjen the Bitter. King in times past whose crypt was seen by Bran while hiding from the Ironmen.

Bennis, Ser:

Knight met by Duncan in the employ of Ser Eustace.

Beren Tallhart:

Helman's youngest son.

Beric Dondarion, Ser:

Southern lord, distinguished in tourney who was sent after Gregor Clegane by Ned. Killed by him, he was resurrected by Thoros, a feat which has occurred multiple times, with some memory loss.

Bessa:

Woman murdered by Chett when she refused to open her legs for him, resulting in him being sent to the Wall.

Beth Cassel:

Ser Rodrick's daughter. Left at Winterfell, Theon threatened to hang her, but is now most likely a Bolton prisoner at the Dreadfort.

Bethany Fairfingers:

One of the singers at the wedding of Joffrey and Margaery.

Bethany Rosby:

Walder Frey's sixth wife and mother of Roslin.

Bethany Redwyne:

Once promised to Brynden Tully, but since wed to lord Rowan.

Big Belly Ben:

A member of the Kingswood Brotherhood.

Big Boil:

A wildling with a boil who went south of the Wall with Jon and was wounded when they attacked.

Big Rob:

One of Ser Eustace's smallfolk, somewhat simpleminded.

Biter:

Name given by Jaqen to sharp toothed fellow prisoner saved with him by Arya, on account of his like of biting and his inability to speak or write. Later a member of the Brave companions.

Bittersteel:

One of Aegon IV's bastards, legitimised on Aegon's death he supported Daemon Blackfyre in the rebellion and fled to the free cities when it failed, where he formed the Golden company.

Black Bernarr:

Man of the Nightswatch that broke his ankle in the flight from the Others.

Black Ears:

One of the clans of the Mountains of the Moon. They take an ear from a defeated enemy, but let them live when they can.

Black Jack Bulwer:

A man of the Nightswatch who helped defend when Mance attacked.

Black Lorren:

A man Iron Isles who went with Theon to Winterfell. One of the men to stay with Theon to the end.

Blackfyre Rebellion:

Rebellion following the death of Aegon IV in which many of his legitimised bastards warred against his trueborn sons and his other bastards. It split the realm in two and the repercussions were felt for over 50 years until Barristan the Bold slew the last of the pretenders.

Blackfyre:

One of the Valyrian swords of the Targaryen's and the name taken by the bastard Daemon and his decendants after he was legitimised as his father had given him the sword. Recovered by Bloodraven after the Blackfyre rebellion and since lost.

Blacktyde:

One of the Iron Isles and a noble family that lives there.

Blackmont:

Dornish noble house, seat Blackmont, banner a vulture grasping a baby

Blackmont:

Seat of the Blackmonts in Dorne.

Blackshield:

The Bastard of the Uplands. A knight defeated at a tourney in Oldtown by Barristan.

Blackwood:

Noble family in the Riverlands with a long standing enmity to the Brackens. One of the few Southron houses to worship the Old Gods. Home, Raventree Hold, banner Tree and Ravens.

Blane:

A Nightswatchman from the Shadow Tower, who Chett planned to kill

Blind Sybassion:

A man on Qarth, possibly a warlock who, according to his servants, regained his sight while Dany was in town.

Bloodraven:

One eyed and one of Aegon IV's bastards, legitimised on Aegon's death he supported Daeron during the Blackfyre rebellion, slaying Daemon and his sons. Later proclaimed Hand. Considered a sorceror by many, his real name was Byndon Rivers and he wielded the Valyrian sword Darksister.

Bloodrider:

Dothraki term for men who serve as companions and defenders to a khal and a sworn to end their lives when he does.

Bluetooth:

A man of Pyke.

Bodger:

A wildling who went south of the Wall with Jon.

Bolton:

Noble house of the North, they were kings before the north was united under the Starks, supposedly a thousand years before. Seat The Dreadfort, sign is a flayed man.

Bonifer Hasty, Ser:

Ser Bonifer the good. Knight who fought for Stannis and swore to Joffrey after the Battle of the Blackwater.

Boros Blount, Ser:

Knight of the Kingsguard, dismissed by Cersei for cowardice in yielding Tommen to Jacelyn Bywater and later reinstated by Tywin.

Botley:

Nobles in the Iron Isles, seat Lordsport.

Bowen Marsh:

Lord Steward of the Nightswatch. Although he supported Janos Slynt for the title of Lord Commander, he offered his service to Jon after Jon was chosen.

Boy:

An orphan boy, taken on by Sharna.

Braavos:

One of the Free cities.

Bracken:

Noble house in the Riverlands with a long standing enmity to the Blackwoods. Swore to Joffrey and were induced to attack the Blackwoods. Seat Stone Hedge, banner a red stallion

Bran Stark:

Son of Ned and Catelyn, crippled after being thrown from a high wall by Jaime Lannister after he saw him with Cersei. Gifted with the greensight because of this.

Brandon Stark:

Ned Stark's elder brother. Rode into King's Landing demanding Rhaegar when Lyanna was taken. Strangled to death struggling to free himself when Aerys cooked Rickard alive.

Brandon Stark:

Lord in the days of Bael the Bard.

Brandon Stark, Lord:

Lord in times past whose crypt was seen by Bran while hiding from the Ironmen.

Brandon Stark, the Bad:

King in times past whose crypt was seen by Bran while hiding from the Ironmen.

Brandon the Builder:

Legendary figure from the Age of Heroes, credited with building both Winterfell and the Wall.

Brandon:

Brandon the Burner. King in the North hundreds of years in the past who burnt his father's ships after he was lost.

Brandon:

Brandon the Shipbuilder, King in the North who sailed west across the sunset sea and was never seen again. Father of Brandon the Burner.

Brella:

A woman, formerly in the employ of Renly, taken on by Tyrion for her discretion.

Brennett, Maester:

The Maester at the Twins.

Brax:

House sworn to Casterly Rock, seat Hornvale, banner a purple unicorn.

Brave Companions:

Sellsword company, made up of murderers, thieves and rapists brought to Westeros by Tywin Lannister. Their leader, Vargo Hoat turned sides when offered a better deal by Roose Bolton. Known as the bloody mummers.

Brienne:

Southern Lady who took up the sword. Was in love with Renly and present at his death, swearing to avenge him. Offered herself in service to Catelyn and went with Jaime to King's Landing. Left there to look for Sansa.

Brightroar:

Valyrian sword of the Lannisters, long since lost by Tommen the second.

Brightwater Keep:

Seat of the Florents in the Reach.

Bronn, Ser:

Sellsword encountered by Tyrion on the way to the Eyrie. knighted following the attack on King's Landing, is intending to marry Lollys and work his way to the nobility.

Brotherhood without banners:

Name given to outlaw company led by Beric Dondarion that persisted in trying to enforce justice ordered by Ned, even after he and Robert were dead.

Brown Ben Plumm:

Captain of the Second Sons, a sellsword company that pledged allegiance to Dany.

Brown Bennar:

Nightswatchman who died in the attack on the fist.

Bryan Fossoway, Ser:

Knight with Stannis of the red apple Fossoways. Slain by Lothar Brune.

Bryce Caron, Lord:

Knight at the Hand's Tourney, later of Renly's Rainbow guard, whre he was known as Bryce the Orange later alligned with Stannis.

Bryen:

One of Petyr's small folk, named captain of his guard.

Brynden Tully, Ser:

The Blackfish. Brother of Hoster Tully. After refusing to marry, took up service in the Eyrie before returning with Catelyn at the start of the war. Left in Riverrun during the red wedding.

Builder:

Members of the Nightswatch responsible for the maintainance of the Wall and the garissons along it.

Burley:

A house sworn to Robb.

Burned Men:

One of the Clans of the Mountains of the Moon, clansmen burn a part of themselves on attaining manhood status.

Burton Crakehall:

Lannister bannerman who slew Beric but was later killed by him.

Butterbumps:

Fat, but surprisingly agile Tyrell fool.

Butterwell:

Hand to Daeron, renowned for his wit but dismissed for incompetance.

Buu:

Man of Kings Landing.

Byam, Ser:

Nightswatchman who surivived the fist but was later succumbed to his injuries at Craster's.

Byan Votyris:

Merchant Captain from Norvos, present at the first attempt on Dany's life.

(Black) Byron Flowers:

One of the great knights who fought on the Blackfyre side in the rebellion.

Cadwyll:

One of the Ironborn who took Winterfell with Theon.

Cadwyn, Ser:

One of Ser Amory's men.

Cafferon:

Noble house, banner a fawn.

Cafferon, Lord:

A lord captured by Robert who changed his allegiance and was slain in the war, by Randyll Tarly.

Calor:

Father of Crawn.

Calon:

Cayne's son.

Caron:

Southern noble family, destroyed in the war. Banner field of nightingales, seat possibly Nightsong.

Carrellen Smallwood:

Daughter of Lady Smallwood, sent to Oldtown for safety at the start of the war.

Cass:

A woman at the Peach.

Cassana Baratheon:

Mother of Stannis and his brothers, born an Estermont.

Casterly Rock:

Seat of House Lannister on the west coast.

Castermere:

Seat of the Reynes on the west coast.

Castle Black:

One of the three manned watch castles along the Wall and home of the lord Commander and first ranger.

Caswell, Lord:

Lord, present in coldmoat when Duncan visited. Banner a centaur.

Caswell, Lord:

Lord who swore to Renly and loaned him his castle during Catelyn's visit.

Catelyn Stark:

Married Ned after his elder brother Brandon, to whom she was promised was killed by Aerys. Killed during the red wedding and dragged out of the river by Nymeria. Resurrected by Thoros of Myr.

Cayne:

Winterfell man who went south with Ned. Killed after Robert's death by Sandor Clegane.

Cedrik Storm:

The Bastard of Bronzegate. A man defeated by Ser Barristan.

Cellador, Septon:

Drunken septon on the Wall and a supporter of Janos Slynt.

Celtigar:

House sworn to Dragonstone, seat Claw Isle, banner Red Crabs.

Cerrick:

Maesterin the employ of Lady Webber.

Cersei:

Married to Robert Baratheon, she had three children by her brother Jaime. Resents being born a woman and has a deep seated hatred and fear of Tyrion, who she blames for the death of her mother.

Cersei Frey:

The Mountain that Rides. Knight in the service of the Lannisters. Tall and freakishly strong, he is a callous psycopath who hates his brother Sandor. His wives keep dying and servants keep going missing.

Robb's direwolf. Killed with him at the Red Wedding.

Home of the Reeds, located in the Neck, it supposedly moves.

A wildling of Jarl's party.

Noble house, banner a black pitchfork on a golden bar sinister on a russet field.

A man of the Nightswatch, aided in the defence when the wildlings attacked from the south.

Hake:

Nightwatchman who found Othor. Killed and wightified beyond the Wall.

One of Jon's friends. Joined the Builders.

Wildling woman, met by Bran, killed by Summer.

Guardsman promoted to head guardsman in Winterfell after Jory Cassel went south with Ned.

Builder of Harrenhal, killed by Aegon the conqueror.

Harrenhal:

Great castle, built by King Harren of the Iron Islands, but not used by him as he was slain before he had the chance. Changed hands several times during the war of the five kings and eventually given to Lord Petyr Baelish along with the title lord Paramount of the Trident.

Harrenhal Tourney:

Tourney held at Harrenhal in the year of the false spring where Ned met Ashara and Howland and where Lyanna. Jaime joined the Kingsguard and Gregor was knighted.
